Exchanging faction points for amber or jade now gives progress toward these titles.

Is there a reason that this isnt retroactive for the jade/Amber we've gotten already? I'd understand if it's just not meant to be that way, just seems rather odd that it is not retroactive. O.o

For the same reason most things aren't retroactive - it didn't record how much faction you traded for jade/amber, so how is it supposed to know what to award you?

But it does show how much Faction I have turned in altogether. What stops them from making the title based off that amount?

Nevermind...it shows how much you've earned...not how much you spent...so if you had 10k full faction for both and turned it in to just the Kurzick, its going to say you earned 10k faction for both sides, where in reality you only did so for the Kurzicks...

Either way, I wouldn't be opposed to them changing it so this title track goes off that number.

I have turned in 85k Faction for the Kurzicks, as I've never spent a single bit of it on Jade...so I am quite close to r1 of the title...but I decided it was more imporant to earn the amber for my armor. So I missed out on this whole title track...

One thing I noticed with this update, exchanging 3k faction for a skill gives 6k faction towards the title track, does it also happens with the other faction rewards?
this makes the faction titles much more easy to get.

edit: ok just tried it with a piece of Jade and I only got 1k so its probably a bug, use it while you can!

Even if its just that it would still help most people. Before there wasnt really a good reward for the luxon/kurz faction so almost everyone cept the faction farmers got jade/amber :/

I've earned 377k Luxon faction and turned 70k in towards alliance rating, GG....

I've earned 170k Kurzick faction and turned 0 in towards alliance rating, GfG...

Thanks for screwing those of us that turned our faction in for other things.

Think: Why should greedy people that put their faction to amber/jade get the benefit of the title? When tons of people ABed for fun or just to get the title up before the skills were released?

the benefit was for their guild, others wanted it for armor or for some extra cash. I think its more reasonable for it to go off how many earned, its not unbalancing anything.

I hate to be a downer, but in the current state, Kurzick and Luxon PvE skills are a totally pointless update from where I'm standing. There's no way I'm ever going to get even a single rank in those titles. Faction farming might've been something I'd have done when Factions was fresh, with this kind of motivation, but today? Not a chance. (Not to mention the 160k I've already spent on amber not doing anything for me at all.)

My guilds and alliances were not interested in farming faction to gain name recognition/ownership of outposts. So I spent vast majority of mine toward Amber. Either way, donating to the Alliances or getting amber/jade is greedy.

I now have earned 306,895 Kurzick faction but only 45,000 of that counts towards the title. I'm a bit miffed that I can't get the new skills even though my service to the Kurzicks was more than enough to gain them.

Okay.. so its greedy to use faction for yourself when your other option was to give it to your guild.. Now think that only people in the HUGE farming alliances this would actually help at all. Otherwise its a waste of your time to put in to your alliance. Why the hell wouldn't you get amber/jade if you werent Faction Farming for control of a town(which itself was a huge letdown).

Yeah....I just got bitch slapped by Anet. xD kinda hard to donate to a guild when I dont have a guild 1/2 the time, heh.

i havent used any of the amber or jade i got, I just bought it to clear the faction pool rather than giving it to the guild, since it would just atrophy there from the alliance not being active in faction wars... I'd be quite happy with turning that jade and amber back in, then buying it again for faction title credit...

I'm a fan of the idea of making the faction you've earned count towards your title. Right now I'm sitting at just under 74k faction earned but only have 25k towards my title.

My sentiments exactly. For those of you who are whining about it not being retroactive (you know who you are): Boo hoo. Get over it. They didn't have to add these skills or change what counts towards the title at all. Just expect amber and jadite prices to tank, so please don't start a thread about that. Thank you.
